Worst movies of the year

The Times has a list of the Top 100 worst movies of the year. The worst, not surprisingly, stars Paris Hilton. I don't think "Sex in the City" belonged there. It was a sweet movie. But if you didn't watch the show you might think it's banal. "Brideshead Revisited" wasn't all that bad. It was rather superficial and lacked the intensity of the book and miniseries. But still. I does not belong on a list with "House Bunny."

I was happy to see the Hannah Montana movie on the list. What are her parents thinking? Her mug is on everything imaginable. I haven't seen a Hannah Montana toaster yet. If there isn't one I'm sure there will be soon. Well done, parents. Nothing like whoring out your kid.

I didn't see most of those but I liked 27 Dresses and Then She Found Me. I thought those were well made. But apparently I was wrong as usual.

Of course I also just bought Leatherheads and it wasn't bad, but probably not on the top 100 of Good movies for this year, but I don't know if that should have been on the worst list either.

But what do I know?

Agreed. "Then She Found Me" was a decent film. Those who make these list are not rating films on anything other than their own likes and dislikes, not on any true professional criteria.

I'm proud to say I didn't see any of them, but I really like the snarky criticism. For example:

50: Dan In Real Life
"I was trying to garrotte myself even before the characters started telling each other that “love isn’t a feeling, it’s an ability” - Edward Porter

To be honest, I doubt I've seen any movies on the 100 Best List either.

I saw three of them. I liked Sex in the City. 27 Dresses was okay, but when (SPOILER ALERT) the man said to her "Come here" and she did after she said she wasn't' going to be a doormat any more, that got my blood boiling! The Bucket List. Yeah, it should have kicked the bucket before it was released.

Criticizing "Dan in Real Life" was nuts. It was the sweetest. You're right, Kate, it's personal opinion! But I did really like that a Paris Hilton movie was the first one listed! :)
