Sleep -- Y or N?

At what point do you decide that it's so late that it's better to stay awake until it's time to go to work?

I suggest 3 hours.
But if you stay up or try to sleep will have the same result: a horrible tired to death day. The times are gone when we were able to party all night and work the next day.

Usually if I'm up until 3 am then i decide to just stay up. Although I do have a trick that I taught myself in college.

I will tell myself that I'm going to take a nap. Just an hour nap and then get back up and get going. What ends up happening (because I always hit the snooze button) is I'll sleep for 3 hours and I'll wake up rested and ready to go as if I had had a full night's sleep.

Now this doesn't work every night and, like it would if I had just stayed up all night long, there is a retaliation to my body where I'll crash later, but I have found that tricking myself with this process does work for the next day at least.

If I'm awake 'til 4:30 a.m.

P.S. I was having a terrible time with wakeyness, then I started drinking Sleepytime Extra tea before bed. That helped a lot. Got me back into a stayasleep cycle.

What a coincidence! Just the other day, I got home at 5:45 a.m. and slept until about 9:30 a.m.

So my answer: "It's never too late to get a little shut eye."

Julia -- it is such a sad part of aging. To think I once went out Thursday, Friday and Saturday! Now on Fridays I'm near face-down tired.

Moe -- great trick. If there's a next time (please, no) I'll try it!

EclectChick & Rig -- how might this go on a work day? ;) 5:45 a.m.? On purpose?
