Post 1 of 30

I read about NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) on Moe's blog. Seemed liked a good challenge -- blog every day for 30 days. I'm usually up to a challenge as long as it doesn't involve physical or emotional pain, or perceived pain. I'm inherently lazy.

Today I have a question. Why are there so many movies and shows becoming musicals? Little House on the Prairie, Legally Blonde, Spamalot. I heard a story on NPR this morning about 9 to 5 the musical. I really don't get it. But at the risk of sounding like the kind of person who kicks kittens, I don't like most musicals.

I'm not mad on musicals, either. It doesn't make you a kitten kicker, it just means that you don't always find a movie works better when people burst into song at odd moments. And I can't see some films making good musicals, either. But I found your blog when I was looking for people who like to read. If you enjoyed a book like "The Oath", can I suggest another one to try? "Outcasts Of Skagaray" is an action suspense story which you can preview by reading the sample chapters on www.threeswans.com.au My blog is http://threeswans.blogspot.com if you feel like visiting. Best wishes, whatever happens.

Okay, I love musicals, but I'm getting more than a little annoyed that MOVIES are becoming musicals. Stage shows, that are musicals, becoming movies, that's one thing, but movies becoming musicals? Seriously? sheesh.

As for NaBloPoMo...I'd encourage you to sign up in November when there are actual prizes involved. This monthly thing was just to keep people going, from my understanding. Actually there was a prize the first month but that hasn't happened since as far as I know...or maybe it's because I've just never won. But the November one was set up for those who don't do NaNoWriMo. Makes sense to me...like I could write a book in a month. sheesh.

Moe -- thanks for the tip! I like the kick-in-the-pants challenge of NaBloPoMo. "I can't break the chain of posts! I can't break the chain of posts!"

Andrew -- thanks for the links!
