Art viewable from space
When I read this I thought, "logistical nightmare." It is kind of crazy but I'd love to see it.
350 eARTh: The World's First Art Exhibit Large Enough to Be Seen From Outer Space - Environment - GOOD
This November 20-28, 350 EARTH will launch the world’s first ever global climate art project. In over a dozen places across the globe, citizens and artists will create massive public art installations to show how climate change is already impacting our world as well as offer visions of how we can solve the crisis. Each art installation will be large enough to be seen from space and documented by satellites generously provided by DigitalGlobe.

Quotation mark Schadenfreude
I can't express how happy I am that the election season is over. For oh so many reasons including an end to the annoying messages filling up my mailbox.
But the propaganda wasn't completely without satisfaction. It often contained inappropriate use of quotation marks. I assume the errors were unintentional. Hence the Schadenfreude.

I don't like Mondays but I do like Bob Geldof
Bob Geldof at Live Aid. He saw a problem, the famine in Ethiopia, and gathered the best musicians of the day to raise money and visibility. I love his audaciousness!

Pooh Pooh the blues: I love you, Brick
This week's Pooh Pooh the blues: the Middle, a great series about a family in Indiana. One of the few shows I don't want to miss. My favorite character is Brick, the nine-year-old. He's an smart and strange little boy. I wish he was my neighbor.
Bonus Brick, including his whispering.

The wurst use for a toaster...
By Michelle Martin
BERLIN | Thu Nov 18, 2010 2:01pm EST
BERLIN (Reuters)- Two Germans fed up with eating Bratwurst sausages not fried to perfection have come up with a "Wursttoaster," or sausage toaster, to ensure caterers no longer have an excuse to serve anything less than the best.
Marco Bruns, 25, said he and his business partner Felix Rennies, 28, came up with the idea after being less than impressed with English efforts to pull off the popular German snack on one of their frequent trips to Britain.
"We went to a market where there was German Bratwurst but we discovered the English don't have a clue how to cook them -- they were completely brown on one side and completely white on the other side," he told Reuters. More

Czech-Spanish Eyes
"Spanish Eyes," U2, came up on my iPod this morning. The song always reminds me of a trip to Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic).
I was on a class trip headed east from Ingolstadt (north of Munich) to the border, where we had to hand over our passports, and on for a horribly long, slow drive to Prague. Before we left I heard an I'm-not-sure-if-it's-true story that quite a few Czech villages had pretty much been abandoned during the war and stayed that way. It certainly looked like some of the villages were uninhabited. The places looked incredibly sad. Sadder still if they were inhabited.

Sticky is good
"Made to Stick" is one awesome, fun read. Why? It's in the subtitle, "Why some ideas survive and others die." Pek Pongpaet put this thought-provoking, simple, easy-to-remember overview together.

Ship of Fools
A dark, rage-against-the-regime song. I'm not in that kind of mood. Even so, it's hard not to get sucked in by the righteous indignation. [waving fist in air]

Combatting the lizard brain
I want Seth Godin's brain. How to combat the lizard brain, ship it. Finish something. Keep moving. Just because you can change things right up to the last minute doesn't mean you should.

Today’s Technology Retro Ads | Idea Sandbox Brainstorming
A Monday dose of silly from Idea Sandbox.
Idea Sandbox is a great blog with cool, useful tools like a thought/brainstorm starter, the Big Dig, and the Prioritizer and Priortizer app -- absolutely fabulous way to objectively prioritize your projects and tasks. (There are only five spaces for priorities but you can add more. Who has five priorities?)

This ad has been popping up on my Pandora window.
The cat looks mad. "She makes mornings brighter. Every time ... she scratches me in the face, demanding breakfast."

Toaster Towel
I wish this was called iToast. From Neatorama.

Toaster Towel:

"Tired of the old, ugly toaster in your kitchen? Here’s a new concept design that will make your metal toaster throw in the towel. Burcu Bag, Amalia Monica and Vinay Raj Somashekar has created a super-flexible toasting device called "Halo" that uses a sheet of heating element to do its job.
Weird? Well, if you think about it, electric sleeping blanket works pretty much the same way, right? Link"
