This site it oddly fascinating: The Grocery List Collection. It is exactly what it says, a collection of found grocery lists. It's like a large sociological exhibit.
My grocery lists are usually an odd mixture of German and English in bad penmanship ("What is this about toes?"). As one, who shall remain nameless, told me long ago, "You write like a pig. Like a pig has a pen in its cloven hoof." That still makes me laugh out loud.

My grocery list sounds like the vegetarian nerd:
tofu
veggie burgers
bean sprouts
soy milk
granola
bulk red pepper flakes
Peace Coffee
tea
organic bananas
My secret is that I'll stop at one of the chain grocery stores for naughty items like ice cream and candy. Oh, the shame of it all!
Wouldn't it be strange to find your own grocery list in the exhibit??? Talk about surreal.
I ran across a grocery list (pre-vegetarian status) of my own, from when I first moved away from home into an apartment. It went something like this: ground beef, chicken, beer, wine, flour, bourbon
Meat and booze. They're what made 'murica great.
Sophzilla, I haven't seen your handwriting. I'll try to remember to snatch a list from your purse next time we visit.
When I send my dad a letter or card, he sometimes calls me on the phone and tells me that some caveman has written him a letter.
LOL, Rig! Me, too!
My dad (who had THE most gorgeous handwriting and printing) thought my handwriting was abominable and would say things like, you USED to write soooo neatly. In actuality, sometimes it's very lovely . . . most times, NOT.
haha - I'd have to MAKE a list for you to snatch it. Most times, I shop by the seat of my pants, as it were. Um . . .

Did we party together back in the 80s, Eclectchick? I can't believe my body survived all the meat and alcohol that decade.

Hmmm, could be! Were you in St. Louis, MO in the 80's?
I probably got drunk and ended up there one night when I wasn't hanging out with Sophzilla. (Which is another good reason why this boy doesn't drink anymore.) :)

Ahh, yes. Perhaps you were that guy I went fountain-jumping with.
Gosh, I miss St. Louis.
* Grin! * That was a great night!

I now have an irrational fear of my lists seeing the light of day. I'll have to write everything in euphemism.
You mean you didn't really want to purchase cigars, gin and Disney videos?
