I was in Lowe's (a big DIY store) the other day and was transported back my vacation in Switzerland last summer. Before announcements in the store, there is a little bing, bing sound. It's a gentle noise, similar to a couple of notes on a xylophone. It's the same sound that you hear in a Swiss train station just before an oncoming train announcement. Now if I could find a place where I could hear the tinkling of cow and sheep bells on a nearby hill.

Sound and memory
